The Sepulchre is a truly amazing space, steeped in history and oozing mystique, it’s tailor-made for presenting creative works, and for hosting boutique events. Built in the 1850s and originally designed for ecclesiastical purposes, those features that make it challenging to use for anything else will now work hand-in-hand with performers as audiences are taken on a ride of emotion and wonder.
Refurbished with deliciously vintage finesse, and with little or no impact to the existing structure, The Sepulchre now boasts a 6x6 metre stage with a sound system and basic lighting rig. The venue's statement pieces, though, would have to be the stunning two-metre chandeliers and the gorgeous seashell footlights.
No entertainment venue is complete without a bar and this one is a delightful example of up-cycling, coordinating a gorgeous collection of art deco cabinets with some beautiful pieces of local timber to create a uniquely functional bar that suits the venue perfectly.
For those events that require a band or musicians on the side, the 'orchestra pit' has been fitted with sound-dampening and has subtle suspending lighting. The quirky choir loft is where the vintage cinema seats reside, providing comfortable seating with an exclusive 'dress circle' vibe.
